Service for passengers
Mobility for all
The following pages contain helpful information, particularly for the elderly, passengers with prams, disabled passengers, passengers using wheelchairs and all those who have temporarily reduced mobility.
Barrier-free U5 stations
With the stations “Musterschule” and “Glauburgstraße”, two additional stations on the U5 line will also be step-free. However, there is a special feature to be noted at both: Stepless entry and exit is only possible at the central, 80-centimetre-high platform segment. Steps of around 20 centimetres in height remain at both segments.
Specifically, this means that anyone with reduced mobility wishing to get off at Musterschule and Glauburgstrasse must pay attention to the yellow markings on the platform at the station where they board the train. The VGF has published an information brochure on this matter.
Mind the step!
Nearly all underground stops and stations in the Frankfurt city area are now step-free. Only “Niddapark” and “Römerstadt” still need to be converted.
Most platforms can be accessed without steps (ramp or elevator). Exception: the "Westend” station. The station is part of the VGF lift retrofit programme, but currently only stairs and escalators are available!
